As far as we know, humans are the only species aware of the transience of existence, a condition that has shaped systems of thought across cultures and informed philosophy, religion, science, and art as means of understanding life and leaving a legacy. Alexandre Frangioni’s work engages this awareness through a critical examination of collective values, cultural symbols, and power structures, addressing social behaviors from a macro perspective rather than individual narratives. By activating shared imaginaries through familiar forms and industrially finished materials, the exhibition reveals the deceptive familiarity of the images we encounter and invites reflection on memory, responsibility, and the traces we leave behind once presence gives way to absence.”
