Carly Aguilera is an American-Venezuelan art dealer born in 1964 in the vibrant cultural land of Caracas, Venezuela. Inspired by her mother, Carly’s journey in the art world began unconsciously in the rich art country of France, Europe, where she resided for three enriching years at an early age. Her relocation to the United States in 1993 marked a pivotal moment, propelling her toward her destiny as a passionate art dealer.

Today, Carly Aguilera continues to honor her heritage and passion for art, captivating enthusiasts and art collectors worldwide with her exquisite collection by Latin American artists.

Career

Carly Aguilera’s visionary journey began in 1995 with the establishment of South Art, initially operated from home, a platform dedicated to artworks by Latin American artists. In 1998, she further solidified her commitment to this mission by inaugurating South Art Gallery, a warehouse art exhibition space located in the heart of Wynwood, Miami, Florida, focusing on highlighting the importance of Latin American art. 

Aguilera embarked on a mission to define the art landscape in Wynwood, positioning her as a pioneer in what is today the art district.

Her path of persistence, devotion, and excellence in innovation in Wynwood until 2004, Aguilera’s illustrious 28-year tenure in the art industry, has been marked by over 200 art shows, including corporate and pop-up events. Continuously evolving and staying ahead of the curve, she has sharpen her expertise in discerning current trends and developments in the art world.

Since 2009, Aguilera transitioned from a gallery proprietor to a pioneering private art dealer, ushering in a revolutionary stage in the art market. Through dynamic pop-up art exhibits, she has gained widespread exposure while meticulously managing the careers of exclusive artists. 

With a focus on forging meaningful connections between masterful artworks and art collectors, Aguilera’s influence extends across influential art capitals such as New York, Miami, and Caracas. 

As she continues to navigate the ever-evolving art scenario, her dedication to showcasing the vibrancy and significance of Latin American art remains steady.
